A Group Show
by studio users at arebyte 2
12-22 November 2016
arebyteLASER is pleased to present a group show of works by the studio users of arebyte II.
The exhibition, featuring work made within the new studio complex, includes a selection of artists spanning all mediums, ages and disciplines. The concept is discarded as the reliance upon conversation and language takes place through juxtaposition and interrogation of various forms, concepts and practices.
The disused office-setting of arebyte’s new project space creates a backdrop of tension and unease, but also eludes to the idea of transformation and negation of purpose of previous spaces; how can the useless be made useful? As the fight for affordable rent for artists continues we see how this challenging period not only disaffects production of work, but also encourages artists to find new ways of making.
Exhibiting artists: Jayson Haebich, Tina Crawford, Neon Emtrzy, Mark Stokes, Mary Ruggeri, Jenny Maxwell, Louisa Worskett, Melissa Kime, Thai Ping Wong, Felice Zhukov,Federico Aprile and Mooni Perry.
